Agendas will be an important tool of communication between home and school. Please sign and check your child’s agenda each evening for messages and notes from school. I will check each agenda every morning for messages and notes from home. Also, if your child rides the bus, please let me know if there is a change to regular transportation by including a note your child’s agenda.
Regular attendance is essential to ensuring your child’s success at school. If your child can not attend school, please contact the office at (780-723 3397)) so no phone call needs to be made to confirm their absence.
Students will receive homework if they do not complete the work in class. Homework is to be returned to school the next day unless otherwise stated. Students will also receive homework projects throughout the year - these will be accompanied by notes describing the assignment.
Each week, students will receive spelling words to learn. Students will be given some time in class to practice and study these words, however, the majority of the studying is expected to be done at home. Spelling test will occur on Tuesdays and new spelling words will be assigned on Wednesdays.
Scholastic Book Orders
Each month, I will be sending home Scholastic book order catalogues. If you are looking for books to build a home library for your child, there are many options included in these catalogues to suit your child’s interests and reading needs. Books purchased through the Scholastic book orders help earn points that are used to purchase books and educational resources for the classroom. There will be a date stamped on the front of the package indicating when book orders are due in school. Cash, cheque (made payable to Scholastic Canada) and online credit card payments are accepted. Please be mindful of the due date as I submit the order on the due date in order to receive your child’s book as quickly as possible.
