Did you know that Mindfulness is one of the first steps of Self-Regulation? Being mindful or using mindfulness is helpful when a child or an adult seeks for strategies that decrease the negative thoughts and worries in the mind. A wonderful way to practice mindfulness is breathing exercises. Encouraging children to take 3 deep breaths when they are feeling anxious, scared or angry can make a big difference to help bring them back to a calmer state of mind!
